TIANA BROWN

Tiana Brown is a first-gen student in her family and is currently a Senior at The University of San Antonio Texas, she is pursuing her bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies Early Childhood Education.  Tiana is researching how black, Indigenous, and Latinx students make up a disproportionate number of students within special education programs in the United States. Despite the work that has been done to support students of color within special education, very few people are looking at how trauma-informed teacher training can provide support to students of color within special education programs. Tiana’s research will focus on addressing this gap in education by investigating different supports that trauma-informed training can provide to educators working within special education programs. Tiana’s goal is to get her Master’s or Doctorate in Psychology and pursue a career working as a holistic therapist for children and adults.
