MARGARET BURNS

Margaret Burns is an undergraduate student at the university of Texas at San Antonio. Her major is music education and she will graduate in 2023. Teaching has always been a passion of hers,

And she has dedicated her life to her future students. Growing up, Margaret had severe depression and severe anxiety. In her early adulthood, she also developed ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder) after experiencing homelessness and psychological abuse. Going to school and keeping up with her peers felt like a struggle due to the fact that she was constantly being weighed down by mental illness. Because of these experiences, Margaret decided to assure that her students would always have someone to turn to if they needed help, and who they could be open with. Her goal is to provide the extra support that those with mental illnesses have so they can be just as successful as their peers.
