ERIC MASSEY

Introduction

Howdy! I am Eric Miguel Massey, a First-generation college student and IES Research Fellow at The University of Texas at San Antonio. I am from the small town of Freer, Texas… home of the Buckaroos. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with the intent to obtain teachers certification in 7th-12th grade speech. After graduation, I aspire to find a job related to education or in the Media industry. 

Research

I would like to research the effects of sexual assault on a student’s ability to thrive in a higher-education learning environment. Although the topic may be seen as insensitive, it is the harsh reality that many college students have faced. Through IES, I want to be able to bring awareness and stand against sexual violence on college campuses.
