Ke Yang, Ph.D.

Ke Yang Ph.D. (she/her/ella) is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department in the College of AI, Cyber, and Computing at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She found and lead the Cohort for AI Responsibility (CAREAI) at UT San Antonio. She received her Ph.D. from New York University, where she received a Pearl Brownstein Doctoral Research Award from the Tandon School of Engineering at NYU. Prior to joining UT San Antonio, she was a postdoctoral researcher at College of Information and Computer Science, University of Massachusetts Amherst, as a member of the Data systems Research for Exploration, Analytics, and Modeling (DREAM) lab and of the Center for Data Science that sponsored her a postdoctoral fellowship. Her work is broadly in the areas of AI trustworthiness, responsibility and safety, data management, machine learning, and human-centered data science. She focuses on topics such as hallucination of Large Language Models, explainable AI, and algorithmic accountability.
