TIFFANY A. GILLMORE
Tiffany Gillmore is an IES Pathways Fellow and a double major in Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Through firsthand experience, she has seen how electrochemistry, materials, circuits, and system design are all essential to understanding batteries—yet these topics are often taught independently. Her research asks: What strategies best bridge these areas and close the gap in battery learning, so students can build a connected mental model and design with confidence instead of memorizing disconnected facts.
As she progresses through her degrees, Tiffany has realized that while she excels at the technical side of engineering, her greatest strength is connecting with people at the right place and time—building meaningful relationships, learning from her network, and turning that shared knowledge into momentum for others. She brings this passion into her leadership and mentorship work with the Lone Star organization, where she helps transfer students find community, navigate challenges, and recognize their own potential. As a single mom striving for the stars, Tiffany is driven by the belief that success is not just personal—it’s something you build, share, and pass forward to strengthen the people and communities around you.
