Hailey Muñiz is a Terry Scholar pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her interest in technology began in high school with coding and cybersecurity, and has since grown into a focus on computing education, artificial intelligence, and human–computer interaction (HCI).
Before UTSA, she earned an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from San Antonio College through a dual-credit program. There, she served as captain of the SAC Cyber Security Club and competed in the National Cyber League, HIVESTORM, and CyberPatriot, experiences that strengthened her technical and collaborative skills.
Her academic interests lie at the intersection of computing education, AI, and HCI, with a focus on AI literacy in K–12 education. Her research examines how gamified and code-based learning environments shape students’ understanding of AI systems.
