HAILEY MUÑIZ

Hailey Isabella Muñiz is a computer science major at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Terry Foundation Scholar. Her interest in technology began in high school, where she discovered a passion for coding and cybersecurity. She hopes to apply her skills in technology to support equitable access to education.

Before attending UT San Antonio, Hailey earned her Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from San Antonio College (SAC) through a dual-credit program. As the former team captain of the SACCyber Security Club, she competed in competitions such as the National Cyber League, HIVESTORM, and CyberPatriot.

As an IES Pathways Fellow, Hailey is interested in studying how differences in school resources affect access to computer science education. She plans to study how early exposure to technology influences students’ confidence and persistence in STEM fields.
