MYTHRI LAKKIREDDY

I’m Mythri Lakkireddy, a Computer Science major at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a minor in Business Administration. I am currently a fellow in the IES Pathways Program, an initiative funded by the Institute of Education Sciences that prepares undergraduate students for graduate research through year-long projects. My research focuses on addressing the limited exposure to computer science and cybersecurity education in primary and secondary schools. By integrating these fields into early education, my work aims to create more opportunities for underrepresented groups, such as women and people of color, in STEM. This effort not only helps to broaden diversity in computer science and cybersecurity but also empowers students who are less likely to access these fields. The results of my research will benefit underrepresented students by fostering inclusion and expanding pathways into STEM careers.
