DANTE LOPEZ

Dante Lopez, is a first-generation third-year Latino student at University of Texas at San Antonio, currently majoring In microbiology and immunology, since he was a kid, he was drawn to science, this curiosity grew to a point that he decided to follow a degree that focus in the little world that lives inside and all around us, he believes microbes are one of the most interesting organisms in the world and the information and applications of them are endless. Being part of an underrepresented community in the science field has fuel his desire to excel and keep pushing boundaries of those who English is not their first language. Once he finishes his undergraduate degree, he plans on getting either a master’s degree in cellular biology or a PhD in genetics, research has always been one of his goals and thanks to the IES Pathways program he is working on new methods to increase the availability of science and health information for underprivilege communities
